Sermon Notes 7/21 – The Holy Spirit Acts 2
After the ascension of Jesus Christ The Holy Spirit descended. Jesus went up the Holy Spirit came down
Acts 2:1-4 When the DAY OF PENTECOST had FULLY COME, they were all with ONE ACCORD in one place. And SUDDENLY there came a sound FROM HEAVEN, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting
Leviticus 23: Pentecost was one of 7 prophetic holidays. Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, Tabernacles
2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had FULLY COME = come to pass, fulfilled, speaks the Lord’s PROMISE being fulfilled in His perfect TIMING
The Holy Spirit is here to teach us
The Lord will fulfill His promises! Hang on to His promises
Don’t Get a head of the timing of the Holy Spirit and make things happen
This all happened in the Upper Room!
Acts 1:14 They were all with ONE ACCORD in prayer and supplication
One Accord: of the same heart mind and purpose they were in agreement unified and one together
This was a Holy Ghost Prayer Meeting
Prayer can open Heaven
Acts 2:2 Suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled the whole house were they were sitting
Your life can change suddenly
2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon EACH of them
Don’t let your fire go out!
They all 120 started speaking in Tongues
A another supernatural miracle occurred: As they were speaking in tongues the people in the streets heard the gospel in their on native languages
