Sermon Notes 3/16 – Joel 2 and 3 – The Last Days

RELENT – this is the Lord calling back His judgment and replacing it with blessings – Joel 2:12-14 –
2 Timothy 3:1 – the last days will be difficult days
BLESSING #1 – Prosperity and Provision – v19
-the Lord will provide all of our needs as we repent and place Him first – Matt 6:25-34
-overflow – v24 – means to run over
-pours out – Jn 3:16…Jn 10:10…James 1:5…Eph 3:20-21…Lk 6:38…Mal 3:8-10
-we need to our part as believers – giving
BLESSING #2 – Satisfaction – Joel 2:19,26
1. The definition of satisfaction – to be fully gratified and content which produces joy
2. Total & Complete Satisfaction is only found in Jesus – Psalm 107:9
-1 Timothy 6:6-21
-Joel 2:26 – since only Jesus satisfies completely and totally, we need to praise Jesus
***Worship is forgetting about what’s wrong with you and remembering what is right with God***
BLESSING #3 – The Lord will take care of all of our enemies – v20
-this refers to the battle of Armageddon
-this was going to be a time of reversal
                                                JOEL CHAPTER 3
verse 1 – Behold – this is getting the attention of people to let them know that Jesus is coming back soon
In those days and at that time – this refers to the end of the tribulation period and the return of Jesus
Restore the fortunes of Israel – what the enemy stole from Israel will be returned
The Jewish people are returning to Israel – Isaiah 11:11-12 and Ezekiel 20:33-34
Israel will be restored back to the Lord:
     a. Relationship – this is being saved
     b. Fellowship – this is spending time with Jesus every day
***When we are out of fellowship with Jesus we miss out on some blessings from the Lord – Psalm 66:16-20
verse 2 – The Lord’s plan will be fulfilled
-this describes the battle of Armageddon
-Jehosophat means Jehovah is Judge
***The Lord loves Israel and will protect them – Israel is the Lord’s land – Ex 23:31
vs 2-3 – reveals why the Lord is going to judge the nations who came against His people and land
