Joel 3

***Joel speaks about the second coming of Jesus…
***Before the Lord returns, the battle of Armageddon takes place
            a. The Jewish people are returning to Israel – Is 11:11-12 and Ez 20:33-34
            b. The Jewish people will be restored back to the Lord – v1
-Israel’s fellowship and relationship with Jesus will be fully restored
-Zechariah 12:9-11 and 13:1
             c. Israel was restored back to the Lord through forgiveness
RELATIONSHIP
*Israel needed forgiveness to be saved…
*@Salvation -we develop a relationship with Jesus
                     -our sin nature was broken
                     -we receive every spiritual blessing from the Lord & the Holy Spirit
FELLOWSHIP
-fellowship is spending time with Jesus every day
-every time we sin we break fellowship with God.  We still have our relationship with Him
-we need forgiveness to remain in our fellowship with Jesus
1 John 1:9
(1) v9 – IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS
a. this reveal everyone sins when after salvation – John sinned also (v9 – we)
b. we must take responsibility for our sins – not blame everyone else
c. forgiveness puts us back in fellowship with Jesus
(2) CONFESS -means to say the same thing that God says
                        -means to agree with the Lord
***Confession is not just saying we have sinned, it is repentance…
                 FORGIVENESS STATEMENTS
1. GOD IS A FORGIVING GOD – Jeremiah 31:34
-the Lord stands ready to forgive
– it is the core, essence, and nature of God to forgive
Isaiah 55:7…Psalm 130:3-4…Psalm 103:1-12
          Psalm 103
Bless – is a “No matter what praise”
Soul – this is our emotions – they will be a part of praise
                ONE THING FROM THE ENEMY
A LIE FROM THE ENEMY.  YOU HAVE GONE TOO FAR AND HAVE SINNED TOO MUCH AND TOO BADLY TO BE FORGIVEN…….
Psalm 103 – God has forgiven ALL of our sins……
***David wrote Psalm 103:
1. David knew better than to do what he did
2. David was still saved when he did those things
***The Lord forgives us and we need to forgive others…….
Forgive – means to let go of…release…to give up the right to hurt someone else for hurting you
(1) FORGIVENESS IS OBEDIENCE – Col 3:12-13 & Eph 4:32
-it is a decision and an action…an intentional choice
              a. do not go by your feelings
(2) FORGIVENESS DOES NOT ALWAYS MEAN FORGETTING – Philippians 3:13-14
-we will remember some things that happen to us, but we can still forgive…
-forget – means not to dwell on…do not let it consume you
              3 THINGS
1. you may not be able to have a relationship with the person you have a conflict with
2. Never want anything to happen to the person who hurt us
-1 Peter 2:21-23…Romans 12:17-19
-let the Lord deal with the situation
3. Do not gossip about what has happened………and the person who hurt you.
Just forgive…
