Chapter One
v5 – Consider Your Ways – means to set your heart on your ways
-consider what they are doing and what their priorities are
-Haggai the prophet was sent to Israel because they had forsaken their spiritual priorities.  They needed to put the Lord first…
-Matthew 6:33 – first means priority…
verse 6
-putting the Lord first creates blessing
-doing your own thing will not bring to you great progress
***You have sown much and bring in little – their harvest was not plentiful
***You eat and have clothes, but it is not enough – their needs were not met because they did not give – Philippians 4:19
***You drink and are not filled – represents not being satisfied
          2 Lessons To Learn:
1. Realize That Jesus Is God Of Everything
-God created and gave us everything
-Give back to God everything
2. Put Jesus First
-He blesses supernaturally – Malachi 3:6-12
THE LORD WORKS ON PRINCIPLES
-there are other words used for principles – Psalm 119:1-24
a.) These principles are the Word of God – 2 Peter 1:20-21
b.) These principles work for anyone
-He is not a respecter of persons
-people need to walk in the principles of the Lord – 2 Chron 7:14…Exodus 15:26
verse 7 – Consider Your Ways
-means to set your heart on your ways
-Haggai repeats himself to try to stir the people to action
-Haggai means festival – He shared the word firmly, but with grace
-this is an invitation to follow the Lord…
verse 8 – Put the Lord first – not just with words but with ACTION…
-go get some wood and start to build the temple…
-1 Chronicles 12:32 – realize the times in which we live and take action
-this pleases the lord – John 8:29 – What Please The Lord???
          (1) A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE  – Hebrews 13:15-16
A sacrifice of praise is when:
     1. you are not feeling it – a lack of emotions and feelings
-you need an I will moment
      2. lifes’ storms are pounding us
       3. A lack of Understanding in our lives
               (2) HAVING FAITH PLEASES GOD – Hebrews 11:6
-we have faith at the point of salvation – Romans 12:3
-Faith Grows – Romans 10:17
***Have faith in the Lord because He can do all things – trust and rely upon Him
*PROBLEM:  Faith and Sight – 2 Cor 5:7
-THINGS WE SEE AND DO NOT SEE………..
