PHILIP PREACHES TO THE SAMARITANS

                                                 Acts 8:5-26
v4 – opposition and persecution scatters the church
-scattered – means to sow
-nothing can stop therchurch
Ambassador – 2 Corinthians 5:19-20
Reconciliation – means to change throroughy from one condition to another
-we become ambassadors @ salvation
-our home is heaven
-being an ambassador is an appointment
-make up our minds to rescue dying people that are not saved…
v5 – Philip goes down to Samaria – Acts 21:8-9
-Samaritans were known as half breeds – they intermarried with other nations
-John 4:1-4 – Jesus had to go through Samaria
vs6-8 – the people of Samaria were open to the gospel
-the Word was mixed with signs and wonders – v6
vs9-25 – Simon the Sorcerer
sorcery – the use of power gained from the assistance or control of evil spirits
-Dt 18:9-14 – we are not to have anything to do with the occult
vs12-14 – Samaritans – they were being saved and healed and accepted into the body of Christ
vs15-17 – the apostles John & Peter  arrived in Samaria and approved what was going on and told them about the baptism of the Holy Spirit
vs18-25 – Simon wanted to purchase this gift, but Peter rebukes him –
v26 – Philip heads south toward Ethiopia
-He obeyed the Lord to go into the desert
vs27-28 – Philip meets and Ethiopian.  You never know who you will be witnessing to and running in to
vs29-31 – Listen to the Holy Spirit wherever you are at
vs32-38 – The Ethiopian is saved and water baptized
vs39-40 – Philip was transported supernaturally to Azotus – 35 miles away
***Jesus does some unexplainable things***
