                  4 men, A Paralytic and A Jesus Encounter

                                           Mark 2

Encounter – means to have a divine collision

-To have a spiritual encounter we need:

                *Jesus and His presence

                *The Word of God

                *Faith

                *Prayer

(1.) THE 4 MEN LEARNED THAT TO HAVE AN ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS THE FIRST SPIRITUAL ACTION TO TAKE IS PRAYER – 1 Timothy 2:14

-go to Jesus first in prayer for everything because prayer works

             2 Examples of going to Jesus First and Putting Him first

Example #1 – 2 Chronicles 16:1-5

     King Asa went to his enemies first to help him instead of going to Jesus

Example #2  – 2 Chronicles 16:12-13

     King Asa goes to physicians first instead of going to Jesus

(2.) THE FOUR MEN LEARNED THAT PRAYER MUST BE CONTINUAL – Genesis 32:24-30

-they kept digging because they knew that 41 was coming

-41 represents that a breakthrough is coming

Perseverance – means tenacity…determination…resolve…persist…keep going…never stop…do not give up…continued effort until you achieve something

a. perseverance is a personal; decision – it is each believers decision to keep going or quit and give up

b. What to do when a breakthrough does not come through quickly…

           1. Do not lose your fight

           2. Have others fight with you and for you

           3. Do not fight for relief, but to conquer
