Zechariah

***Zechariah received 8 visions in on eight from the Lord

—Visions are from the Lord – Acts 2:17-21

a. they will go along with the Word
b. they do not direct the believer
c. they are a Word from the Lord and can
change everything

The first Vision was The Man on the Red Horse in the Myrtle Trees – Zechariah 1:7-17 (v8)

– Myrtle trees represents Israel
– Hollow or ravine – represents Israel being in despair
– Man on a red horse – represents Jesus Christ and redemption

***But it is time – vs12-13 – to be blessed by the Lord

PROCLAIM – the good news to Israel – means to made something known publicly…to cry out with energy an spirit

(1) I WILL PROTECT THE NATION OF ISRAEL – vs 14-15

zealous – means a fiery, burning passion toward someone or something
– Here it is Jerusalem

– Genesis 12:1-3 – we must stand with Israel and be zealous for this nation

How does the Lord protect:

1. He protects through believers
– The existence of believers in a nation protects unbelievers

-2 Thess 2:5-12

2. The Lord protects Israel Himself – v15

v15 – The Lord uses the word angry twice

– The Lord used the nations to spank Israel, but they crossed the line

helped – they added to Israel’s calamity

(2) MY HOUSE WILL BE BUILT – v16

– Matthew 16:18

This refers to 2 things:

—–The rebuilding of the Jewish temple that Babylon destroyed

—–The building of the church in the 21st century

(3) I WILL RESTORE EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN LOST – v16

* A surveyors line – used to measure houses, there temple and businesses that will be built

* Walk by faith to see this happening

* Israel lost everything, but the Lord will give it all back

(4) I WILL PROSPER YOU – v17

spread out – means to be super abundant

*** Like water coming from everywhere

Prosperity comes from the Lord – James 1:17
Prosperity is for everyone – chosen – means to select and God has selected everyone to prosper

Prosperity is to be given away
Prosperity is the result of obedience and lining yourself up with the will of God – Matthew 6:33

Zechariah 1:18-21

VISION #2 – The Vision of the 4 Horns & the 4 Craftsmen

v18 – Zechariah looks up – physically and spiritually

4 horns represents 4 empires and nations that follow each other
*Babylon
*Medo Persia
*Grecian
*Rome

v19 – What are these?

– These 4 empires took over Israel

scattered – means to hurt, wound, disperse, rule and sift

horns – represents power and authority
***we have power and authority as believers – Luke 9:1-2

v20 – 4 Craftsmen – means professional workmen who have a skill with wood, metal and and stone

– They represent the 4 empires who are ready to take action

v21 – These 4 empires are doing 2 things:

1. They came to scatter Israel

lift up their head – Israel has no hope and future as these nations oppress Israel

– They come to terrify – means to throw into a state of panic and alarm

to cast out – means to destroy

The final Kingdom to come to take over the world and universe is the Kingdom of God – Revelation 19:11-21

*** The Lord is in control and His plan is being fulfilled…
