WHAT TO DO WHEN IT STORMS

WHAT TO DO WHEN IT STORMS

(1.) WE HAVE A PROMISE – Mark 4:35-41 & 5:1
-We will make it to the other side…
a. no matter what the storm is
b. no matter how long the storm is
c. no matter how intense the storm is – 1 Cor 10:13 & John 1:16
d. no matter how you feel
-the word emotion means to move away from
***Whatever your storm is, you have a promise that is based on the Word of God
-do you need healing – Ex 15:26
***Keep declaring the promise until the storm ends…
One Example: THE LORD IS WITH ME…….
—Isaiah 43:1-3a
Let’s look at the life of Paul –
a. Acts 18:9-10 – Paul came to Corinth and stayed there 18 months
b. 2Timothy 4:14-18 – Paul was in jail around one third of his life
***The Lord is Jehovah Shamma – He is present and He is There…….
(2.) PRAISE YOUR WAY THROUGH AND OUT OF THE STORM – Acts 16:16-34
v25 – Midnight – represents a stormy time…a dark time…a hard, tough time & trial
***Paul & Silas were thrown into jail
***They did not complain, but prayed and praised
Praise Points:
1. PRAISE PERMITS NO OTHER THOUGHTS THAT GOD THOUGHTS – Psalm 34:1-3
-when we praise the Lord, our hearts, minds and voices are all focused on the Lord
-we are magnifying the Lord
2. PRAISE ONLY AFFECTS THE BELIEVER – Hebrews 13:8
-PRAISE ONLY CHANGES THE BELIEVER.  IT DOES NOT CHANGE THE LORD
-We need to be glad the Lord never changes….. – He is stable, solid and strong
3. PRAISE AT TIMES CAN BE A SACRIFICE – Hebrews 13:15
-The corona virus is upon us, but praise the Lord anyway
-Sacrifical praise defeats the “I don’t want to praise Him” mindset……
-Praise the Lord no matter what and no matter how you feel…….
