                                        TWO QUESTIONS

Verse 12

Lawlessness will increase

Increase – means to multiply…grow rampant…abound…get worse

*law & order will disintegrate

*illegal things will become legal

verse 13

-this is not a salvation verse

-this is not the church because the church is gone from earth in the rapture

END – this is the end of the tribulation

-the people who make it through the tribulation enter into the millennial kingdom of Jesus Christ

-this shows us that we all as believers will go through hard times

                      TWO THINGS WE NEED TO REMEMBER AS WE STUDY

                       MATTHEW 24-25 & THE 7 YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD

(1.) THERE MUST BE A RUDE AWAKENING BEFORE THERE CAN BE A GREAT AWAKENING

-WE NEED JESUS BADLY…THERE MUST BE REPENTANCE QUICKLY

(2.)  WE NEED TO FORM A GLORY ZONE IN THE WAR ZONE

-demons are real and we are in a fight with demons

-forming a glory zone comes by spending time with Jesus

verse 14 – THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM

-Gospel – means good news

-The Everlasting Gospel – Rev 14:6-7 – God’s judgment is coming

-The Gospel of Grace – 1 Cor 15:1-5

           *saved by grace through faith

-The Gospel Of The Kingdom – Matthew 24:14

-this is the message of salvation and that Jesus is coming to set up His millennial kingdom

verse 15

-this verse begins the second half of the tribulation.  The tribulation is 7 years long and is divided into 2 sections of three and a half years each….

Abomination of Desolation – this speaks of something detestable & repulsive to God and refers to the antichrist

*The antichrist goes into the temple in Jerusalem and says he is God

*This refers to the antichrist breaking a peace treaty he made with Israel at the beginning of the tribulation which is shown in Rev 6

Daniel 9:20-27

v24 – 70 weeks are for Israel & the Jewish people

*1 week equals 7 years.  70 weeks of years is 490 years

Daniel 9:25-26 – 7 weeks + 62 weeks = 69 weeks

*from the time Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem to Jesus dieing on the cross is 69 weeks of years which is 483 years.  This leaves one week of year sleft —7years

the 7 years left is the 7 year tribulation period…..

v26 – not in Himself – Jesus died for others

-the Romans came like a flood to destroy Jerusalem in 70A.D.

v27 – refers to the antichrist

v27 – the antichrist breaks the peace treaty made with Isarel in the middle of the tribulation period

Matthew 24:16

-when you see Matthew 24:15 happen, get out of Jerusalem and get to the mountains

Matthew 24:17

Housetop – this is the room above the house and a place to relax

-do not take anything with you as the antichrist wants to kill you

Matthew 24:18

If you are at work, do not go home

Matthew 24:19

It will be hard to escape if you are pregnant or have small children

Matthew 24:20

*Pray the weather is good

*Pray it is not on the Sabbath when all stores are closed

Matthew 24:21

this is the 2nd half of the tribulation – “The Great Tribulation”

-this is going to be the most severe calamity in human history

Daniel 12:1 – Israel is saved and protected by an angel through all of this calamity

Matthew 24:22

-the second half of the tribulation is only 3 and a half year slong and is almost over.  If there was alot of time left, Israel would be destroyed

-elect – this is Jewish and gentiles who have been saved
