1. The Deity of Jesus Christ
a. John 1:1 In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the WORD was God. He was in the beginning with God
b. Logos = think first then speak inward thought becoming outward expression
c. Jesus was with God in eternity then begotten by God the Father to become flesh
d. 8:58 Jesus said to them, Most assuredly I say to you before Abraham was I AM
e. Revelation 19:13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood and His name is the Word of God
f. Jesus is God’s communication to man
2. 1:2 All things were CREATED through Him and without Him nothing was CREATED that was CREATED. In Him was LIFE and the LIFE was the LIGHT of men. And the LIGHT shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it
a. He created everything
b. He did not make mistakes when He created you
c. There is no creation without a creator no design without a designer
3. In Him IS LIFE
a. 11:25 I am the RESURRECTION and the LIFE
b. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation old things have passed away behold all things have become new
c. 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly
d. Is your marriage dead is your business dead
e. Are you dead spiritually
f. Our Country is dead spiritually
4. 8:12 I Am the Light of the world
a. 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path
b. Are you searching for purpose and direction in this life
c. Light exposes darkness in our hearts and lives
d. Conviction not condemnation
5. 1:14 And the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth
a. Theanthropos the God Man
b. He is full of Grace there is forgiveness of sins
c. He is Full of Truth Jesus is truth
6. 1:12-13 But as many as received Him to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name who were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man but of God
