The Power Of God

***Acts 1:9-11

(1.) THE ASCENSION AND EXALTATION OF JESUS COMPLETED THE REDEMPTION PROCESS  – Eph 4:9-10

-this is all about Jesus Christ

-do not leave out the name Jesus

         a. every religion uses the word God

         b. a person of faith

         c. how a person is saved – 1 John 2:21-23

(2.) THE ASCENSION AND EXALTATION OF JESUS CHRIST DECLARES THAT HE IS GOD – Matthew 16:13-16

-there are many opinions about who Jesus is, but He is God

-we are not to dishonor the name of Jesus – Exodus 20:7

         *every believer is to follow this command

         *we are not to use the Lord’s name in a senseless and insincere way

(3.) THE ASCENSION AND EXALTATION OF JESUS CHRISTGIVES JESUS THE NAME THAT IS ABOVE ALL NAMES – Philippians 2:5-11

highly exalted – means elevated to the highest point

     ***Jesus is the only person the Father has highly exalted

     ***Every knee will bow & confess that jesus is Lord

Confess – means an open verbal declaration…to say the same thing that God the Father says

(4.) THE ASCENSION AND EXALTATION OF JESUS AND HIS RETURN – Acts 1:9-11

-Jesus Christ is returning very soon

-signs – the word sign refers to what is taking place behind the sign – which is the return of Jesus

          -there is a convergence of signs occurring

***Some Signs pointing to the return of Jesus Christ

***Cosmic signs and disturbances in the sky – Luke 21:25-28

***A dramatic increase in knowledge and travel – Daniel 12:4

***Zech 8:7-8 – Jerusalem will be occupied by Israel

***Acts 2:1-21 – An outpouring of the Holy Spirit
