THE NAMES OF GOD

JEHOVAH RAPHA
The Lord Who Heals
TWO HEALING SCRIPTURES
Matthew 8:1-3
-the Lord wants to heal
Psalm 103:1-5
-One of the benefits of the Lord is healing
             3 POINTS ABOUT HEALING
1. The Lord uses many different ways to heal
2. Healing can be a process or immediate
3. Healing is for today – Hebrews 13:8
                          Exodus 15:1-5, 20-27
vs1-5, 20-21
The Lord delivered Israel out of Egypt
-Egypt – represents the world
-Bondage – represents sin
-Pharoah – represents the devil
***Israel praised the Lord for their deliverance
-they had all of the water that they needed
v22 – they leave Egypt toward the promised land & walk into a wilderness
-there is no water and only heat
          TWO THINGS TO NOTE:
1. You can only get to where the Lord is taking you by going through the wilderness
2. Having enough water does not test the heart – Heat does
v23 – Marah – means bitter
-they find bitter water
v24 – Israel complains – be careful of our reactions and not just our actions
REMEMBER 3 THINGS:
1. When you complain against Moses you are complaining about the Lord
2. Israel as in the will of God
-being in a wilderness does not mean you are out of God’s will
3. Always Remain Grateful
-Never forget what the Lord has done for you
v25 – The Lord provides water for Israel – He is a miracle worker…
-the tree represents the cross which can remove the bitterness of sin and life
-bitter means  becoming sour and having a disagreeable acid taste /being unpleasant/discontent
v27 – Israel then comes to Elim and they find water and rest.  Elim was around 5 miles from Marah…
verse 26 – The Lord reveals Himself as Jehovah Rapha – the Lord who heals
-He can heal bitter experiences and anything that needs healing
-Jesus Christ is the Healer
-Jesus heals every sickness and disease and issue
