THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL

DANIEL 5:1-15, 22-32
Verse 1 – Belshazzar was Nebuchadnezzar’s grandson and ruled 20 years after Neby
He rules over Babylon who was the world power

-Belshazzar relied on his military, his great fortified great city and economy and false gods.  Babylon felt it could never be conquered

The Handwriting Is On The Wall for the United States of America and we need
                                      to realize 3 Things…
(1) WE NEED TO REALIZE THERE IS AN ENEMY – 1 Peter 5:8-9
-we are not fighting against people, but powers of darkness
-there is an enemy waiting to destroy us outside of the walls
                            2 Points About Our Enemy
                                 (1) THE DEVIL AND HIS DEMONS ARE PATIENT – 1 Peter 5:8
-he waits for the right time to pounce and destroy and attack
Remember – when it is quiet, it is not quiet……the enemy is putting together a strategy for now and in the future
                                 (2) ONE OF THE STRATEGIES OF THE ENEMY IS TO CAUSE INDIFFERENCE IN A PERSON
-the enemy doesn’t want you to be on fire for the Lord, but be lukewarm
-The enemy wants to dim your passion for Jesus
-get your passion back for Christianity and Jesus
(2) REALIZE THE TIMES IN WHICH WE ARE LIVING – 1 Chronicles 12:32
-we need some sons of Issachar
     a. we need to understand that the Lord is coming back soon
-conflict with Iran
-elimination of Israel
-corruption abounds
     b. Our Nation is Away from the Lord
-the U.S. has strayed away from the Lord big time and that is our main issue
      c. The church is Asleep and must be Revived
-every believer needs to be in revival
-we must open our eyes, see the truth, not be in denial and come up with a solution…
-the solution is 2 Chronicles 7:14
(3) REALIZE ACTION WILL RUN THINGS AROUND – 2 Chronicles 7:14 & Daniel 6:10
-Daniel cried to the Lord in prayer 3 times a day
-Psalm 107 – the word cried out is used several times
PSALM 107:4-6 – these are believers who are lukewarm and wasting their time, finances and lives
the word desolate speaks of wasting away
Psalm 107:10-15 – Redemption (v13)
v12 – they threw themselves down at the feet of Jesus because He is the only One who can save them
Psalm 107:17-21 – Healing (v20)
Healing and signs and wonders…….
Psalm 107:28-31 – Peace
-The Lord calms the agitation of the ocean & the raging waves
-The Lord can bring peace to our hearts and lives
