Staying in your own lane and keeping your eyes on Jesus!

  1. STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE
Luke 10:38-42
As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
“Comparison is the thief of joy”
Vs 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations thathad to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
  • men do not like to be compared to anyone
  • The best way to create jealousybetween our children is to Comparison
  •  We lose our joy when we start to look at others moms and compare ourselves.
  • Our Standard is the WORD of God period!
  • No one will ever do you as good as you do!
  • Your children are God’s design for YOU!.
Hebrews 12:1-2
 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,  2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
Stay in your own lane!   And keep your eyes on Jesus!!!
  1. KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS
 Vs. 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,42 but few things are needed or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
  • He knows our children He created them and he is the ONLy one who truly understand our desperate cry for them
Sitting at the Feet of Jesus…
  • Sitting at the feet of Jesus help us to keep our eyes on the “onething” so that we can stay in our own lane!
  • Sitting at the feet of Jesus I’ve learned what really needs to get done and what I think needs to get done
  • Sitting at the feet of Jesus I’ve learned how to enjoy my family more!
  • Sitting at the feet of Jesus we learn to Enjoy the poopie diapersit won’t be long and everything they wear will smell like one.
A. When we spend time with Jesus…
  1. We worry and are upset less
  • We don’ t get upset about the little things
  • We have more peace
  • We get in on what is doing in our children’s life!!!
1 Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
B.How do we do sit at the feet of Jesus?
  1. Schedule it
Teacher   When our eyes are on Jesus we become great teachers

  • Many of you in this room maybe didn’t have the greatest example for a mom but Jesus is the best!
  • He is the perfect teachers
  • The best way we can teach our kids and by teaching them to go to Jesus.
