                                           Zechariah 12

verse 3 – In That Day – vs4,6,8,9,11 – this refers to the return of the Lord

-Jesus Christ is the God of the I WILLS — John 14:1-3…..Acts 2:17-18…… and Matthew 16:18

Jerusalem will be a heavy stone for all people

-the enemies of Israel try to pick up the stone to destroy it, but it falls back on them

verse 4 – the Lord supernaturally intervenes — this is the battle of Armageddon

-confusion comes to Israels’ enemies

-blindness comes to the horses

***We serve a supernatural God………

verse 5 – we need leaders who are on fire for Jesus.  These verses refer to the leaders of Israel

verse 6 – firepot or firepan – this is the floor area where wood is placed to burn

fiery torch – this is a big amount of grain that is bundled together

Having fiery leaders defeats the enemies of Israel…….

verse 7 – After the reign of King Solomon, Israel split apart into 2 kingdoms

-the northern kingdom – Israel

-the southern kingdom – Judah

DIVISION
1. The Lord dislikes division – Proverbs 6:16-19

2. Speak Unity – 1 Corinthians 1:10

-speak the same vision and purpose

3. Stand for unity – Eph 6:11, 13-14

-Be a voice

vs8-9 – The Lord will fight our battles

1. The Lord will personally fight for us

v8 – the Lord will defend Israel

v9 – The Lord will destroy all of the nations

2. The people of Israel will fight

v8 – feeble – those who are weak will become strong

Be As God – fighting against Israel will be like fighting against God

          How do we allow the Lord to fight our battles?

1. WE MUST DEVELOP AND KEEP A FIGHTING SPIRIT – How do we do this – through praise and worship………2 Chronicles 20:1-4, 14-24…
