v1 – CONFLICT – when you follow the Lord conflict is going to occur
1. Conflict does not mean you have done anything wrong
-Jesus is our example of this
2. the enemy is behind alot of conflict
-because of what we are doing for Jesus
-the religious leaders demanded to see something spectacular from Jesus…
v12 – Jesus sighs and it can be heard
-it was a sigh of sorrow and being disturbed
-Jesus had already given them a sign – the sign was Himself….
Matthew 12:38-42 & Isaiah 7:14
***We do not need a sign, but signs and wonders are a part of the ministry of Jesus
1. Signs and Wonders are supernatural events
2. The Lord uses believers as a conduit for signs and wonders to occur
-Acts 4:29-31 & 5:12-15
-John 14:12 – believers will do greater works than Jesus did
3. Signs and Wonders point to Jesus and are done by jesus
-the word sign points to the person behind the healing or miracle
-do not be a spiritual groupie
LEAVEN – vs13-21
v13 – we will all make it to the other side
v14 – the food supply is being discussed by the disciples
v15 – charges or warned – this is continuous action
-Jesus repeated Himself over and over and over again
Take Heed – have some discernment – thinks things through mentally
—Use your heads and be practical
Beware – watch out..keep your spiritual eyes open continually
***Be on guard against the evil influences of the religious leaders continually and their leaven…
v16 – the disciples did not get it – they were talking about food. Jesus had a spiritual lesson for them about leaven…
Leaven – represents sin, corruption, and evil in some form
*Jesus is referring to false doctrine
-false teachers and doctrine is the #1 sign of the return of Jesus Christ
***1 Timothy 4:1……Matthew 24
vs17-21 – means to comprehend and put together mentally
-we must put some things together in our minds and understand some things
-this isn’t about food and eating, but about understanding the times in which we are living…
Mark 8:22-26
A BLIND MAN IS HEALED
v22 – Jesus kept on ministering even in the midst of conflict
1. Keep moving forward
2. Keep on grinding
3. Keep fellowshipping
***They brought a blind man to Jesus
-we need to bring people to Jesus
Jesus led the man out of town
-Jesus did not want the crowds to hinder His ministry
v23 – Jesus spits on the mans’ eyes
Jesus lays hands on the man
*Healing can come over time
*Healing is always touching your life when being prayed for
vs24 – 25 – 3 stages to this healing
***the blind man looks up as if still blind
***he could start to see things
***the blind man was healed and saved
v26 – do not go back to the village – Go Home
1. Jesus had already ben in this area and was rejected. They had unbelief and here was no reason to return to this town
2. Jesus had to move on and follow the plan of the Father – no distractions
