Sermon Notes 9/5 – Mark 7: Two Miracles

FIRST MIRACLE

MARK 7:24-30

Casting Out A Demon

(1.) WE LEARN THAT JESUS CAME FOR THOSE WHO ARE JEWISH & GENTILE

-Ephesians 2:11-18

-Jesus goes to gentile territory – Tyre & Sidon

-doctrine of reconciliation – means to change from one condition to another

(2.) WE LEARN THAT NO ONE IS BEYOND SALVATION – 2 Peter 3:9

-the women lived in evil wicked areas

-they were unbelievers related to the cannaanites

-no one is beyond being saved

(3.) WE LEARN THAT PERSISTENCE IS A KEY TO LIVING A VICTORIOUS LIFE IN CHRIST

V26 – Continually asking her request

-Genesis 32:22-31

(4.) WE LEARN THAT JESUS IS GOD – verse 25

-she falls at the feet of Jesus to worship Him

-John 1:1,14/John 5:18/John 20:24-29

v27-28 – children – represent Israel

         bread – represents the ministry of Jesus and His blessings

         dog – refers to the gentiles and this is a puppy dog & not a bad term

***Jesus revealed His plan which is to go to Israel first and then to the gentiles

vs29-30 – the woman was receptive and obedient to the plan of Jesus and she could now then receive…..

DEMONS

-believers cannot be demon possessed

-our enemy is the enemy and their attacks will increase

     Why the increase in demonic attacks?

-the enemies days are numbered

-weakness invites aggression

-the Lord is up to something
