Sermon Notes 9/18 – Even If Believers
EVEN IF BELIEVERS
DANIEL 3:10-18 (V18)
***Daniel 3 is about 3 men who were thrown into a fiery furnace
***The fiery furnace represent the fiery trials we will all go through in our lives
***Even if believers follow Jesus no matter what they are going through
(1.) EVEN IF BELIEVERS REFUSE TO COMPROMISE THEIR CONVICTIONS – Daniel 3:1-7, 8-18
The Definition of Compromise – means to accept standards that are lower than desirable which produces weakness…
***The 3 men would not worship any idols – Exodus 20:1-6 & 1 John 5:21
***John the Baptist would not compromise his stand for Jesus Christ
Matthew 11:7-11
(2.) EVEN IF BELIEVERS KNOW THAT OUR GOD IS UNSTOPPABLE – Daniel 3:16-18
***Being unstoppable means the Lord can do anything He wants to do
-The Issue – we want the Lord to do what we want Him to do…
WE DON’T ALWAYS GET WHAT WE WANT
Here are some things we need to practice when we are thrown into a fiery furnace:
(1.) RELEASE AND EMBRACE
RELEASE what we want/our own agendas
EMBRACE what the Lord wants and what His will is – Surrender to Jesus
John 12:27-30 – Jesus is our example to follow
-the key when facing a trial is to glorify and please the Father
(2.) Keep on Walking – Daniel 3:26
-we can walk through our trial because the Lord is with us – Is 43:1-3/Ps 139:7-10
-there are blessings that take place as we walk through our trials – we are set free from the many issues that we have
(3.) EVEN IF BELIEVERS CONVERT PAIN INTO PURPOSE – Matt 28:18-20
-trials put us in places we would never be in so we can witness to people we would have never been able to witness to before
-Do not dwell on your trial – dwell on the Great Commission which never stops
-the enemy wants to distract us and stop us from seeing the harvest
