Sermon Notes 9/14 – The Last Days – Uncertain Times
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 & 2 Timothy 3:1-10
difficult – means savage; hard to deal with;dangerous;terrible;
***it is the same word used in Matthew 8:28 – demon activity
know – means to absolutely positively know
-it says to be knowing – always keep this in your mind
HOW TO LIVE IN VICTORY IN UNCERTAIN TIMES
1.) REALIZE THERE IS ONLY CERTAINTY IN JESUS AND HIS WORD – Isaiah 7:1-2
-Israel was living in uncertain times
-Jesus is certain and is our ROCK – Matt 7:24-28 & Psalm 18:2
-There is only certainty in Jesus because He never changes – Psalm 102:27
-Uncertain times do not change Jesus
-The Lord is teaching us to stand on the Word and not to go by our feelings
2.) UNCERTAIN TIMES NEED TO CAUSE US TO REMEMBER – Deut 8:1-4
Remember – means to bring all of the power from the past into the future
-Remember the works of the Lord – Psalm 77:10-12
-Remember that we need to keep rowing – Mark 6:45-51a
-WATCH OUT FOR INSIDE EROSION…….
3.) UNCERTAIN TIMES PROVE GOD IS A PROVIDER – Genesis 22:1-4, 12-14
-The Lord’s name is Jehovah Jireh
-the root word for the name Jireh means to see
-The believer sees the Lord will provide even before the manifestation of being provided for arrives
-The Lord sees the faith of the believer and responds to their faith
4.) UNCERTAIN TIMES SQUEEZE OUT THE I WILLS OF OUR CHRISTIANITY – Ps 34:1-3 & 145:5
-Uncertain times put the squeeze on us. What comes out?
-when we walk through uncertain times, we can get numb and lose our feelins, but we praise the Lord anyway………I WILL BLESS THE LORD…
