Jesus Christ Is Lord

1 Peter 3:15

1. THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST IS A CHOICE OR DECISION

– Ezekiel 47:1-6 and Joel 3:14

– It’s decision time

– Let’s all make Jesus Christ Lord

Savior – means to rescue…deliver…to save people from spiritual ruin

Lord – means master, ruler, the supreme authority, and one in control

Making Jesus Lord takes time…

Ezekiel 47:1-6

– A river is flowing from the vision of a temple Ezekiel had, which reveals 4 levels of growth, concluding in making Jesus Lord

Verse 3 – Level #1 – Ankle deep – newly saved

Verse 4 – Level #2 – Knee deep – a life becoming more like a disciple

Verse 4 – Level #3 – Waist deep – relinquish self-reliance & go with the flow

Verses 5-6 – Swim and go all in – total surrender and complete dependence on Jesus / making Jesus Lord

2. WE MUST SANCTIFY THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST

– 1 Peter 3:15-22

Sanctify – means to set apart

– We need to set Jesus apart from any other faith, god, or religion

– Jesus is God/the one and only true God

Verse 15 – once for all – it will never be repeated/nothing else is added/the act of salvation is complete

Just is Jesus – meaning He has never sinned

Unjust – are unbelievers

Verse 19 – Jesus went to Hades and made an announcement & gave out information

– This is not a chance to be saved

Verses 20-21 – as water was involved with Noah’s flood, water is included in salvation – We are baptized in water after salvation occurs

Since we know who Jesus is, we must defend Him

-From false doctrines

-From cultural issues

-From isms

3. WE MUST SHARE THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST

– 1 Peter 3:15 & Romans 15:4,13

What should we share? HOPE…

– This hope is in us that was received at salvation

– We have hope in Jesus and His Word

What is Hope?

Hope is an expectation that something good is about to happen. Hope produces good results. It is a confident and certain expectation of what God has promised.

An Enemy – TIME…..

– Our Hope must always be with Jesus, regardless of how He comes through for us…

– We must share with people all of the HOPE we have in the Lord, which is what He is going to do for us.

So be ready and prepared

SPRING INTO ACTION…

So I am confident there isn’t anything the Lord cannot do…
