Sermon Notes 9/10 – Revelation Chapter 12

REVELATION CHAPTER 12

Verse 5 – this is the birth of Jesus – Israel gave birth to Jesus, meaning He is Jewish
Matthew 24:3-5,23-27
Verse 6 – Israel escapes to the wilderness.  The Lord sends them there.
The Lord leads people into the wilderness so they will grow and rely on the Word and not on their feelings
– Deuteronomy 8:18 & Matthew 4:1

Verse 7 – The Lord does everything decently and in order
– Heavenly battles are going on constantly – Daniel 10:9-13, 20
Verses 8-9 – The enemy will never prevail over us
– The enemy has no more access to heaven after this event occurs
Verse 10 – A victory celebration occurs in heaven
– Accuser means one who is against us
– Devil means slanderer
Verse 11 – How do we defeat the accuser
– Pull down every accusation from your mind
– Make constant declarations of who you are in Christ
– Call people to help you – Exodus 17:8-12
– People were totally loyal to Jesus and did not care if they died or not
Verses 12-17 – Speaks of two groups of people
1. Those in Heaven
2. Those on the earth
THOSE IN HEAVEN
– These are believers from the church and tribulation who were killed
– There is a heaven
– These believers are praising
            – This is always
            – It is focused on Jesus
            – They were loud – Means everyone praising – v10
– Luke 19:40 and Mark 10:45-50
THOSE ON EARTH
Woe – a word of judgment
Wrath – means to breathe hard/fierceness
Verse 13 – a wave of antisemitism sweeps the earth
Verse 14 – the Lord intervenes/you will make it through any trial or time of tribulation
Nourished – the Lord provides for us at all times
Verse 15 – Armies of the world against Israel
Verse 16 – Countries who come to help Israel
Verse 17 – The antichrist hunts down and tries to kill all Jewish believers
