Sermon Notes 9/1 – The Mighty Works of God

Mark 6:1-6 The words mighty works are used twice (NKJV)

John 2:23-25 – the people followed Jesus for what they could get from Him and not just to get to know Him

                                   PSALM 103:1-5

***WE BELIEVE IN THE MIGHTY WORKS OF GOD BECAUSE THE BIBLE TALKS ABOUT THE MIGHTY WORKS OF GOD – Prov 4:20-22 & Matthew 8:1-4

Healing – means to cure/to make whole/to bring relief/to repair and restore

-it is emotional, mental, physical and spiritual healing

verse 1 – Bless – used 3 times in vs1-2 – means to kneel down/celebrate & be thankful

                               THE POWER OF THANK YOU

thankful and grateful – means to return kindness & appreciation

being thankful is the will of God – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

the Lord – is Jehovah

-the one who has always been/keeps His Word/reveals things to us

All that is within us – emphasizes the soul

-the soul is a combination of intellect and emotions

         WHAT WE BELIEVE ON THE INSIDE WILL COME OUT ON THE OUTSIDE

***We believe:  (1.)  the Lord is holy – separated from sin – vs1a, 2b

                         (2.) the Lord has a great benefit package

-So do not forget the Lord & His benefits – Dt 8:2, 3b-4, 11-19

verse 3 – WHO HEALS ALL OF OUR DISEASES

Who – this is Jesus Christ – the only One who can create and heal

                  ***The Lord can use many ways to heal people, but He is the Healer

                  ***His name means Healing – Jehovah Rapha – Exodus 15:26

Heaven is one way the Lord heals – Hebrews 9:27

  *We die once – there is no reincarnation

  *Death is gain – Phil 1:21

  *Eccl 7:1 – the day of ones death is better than the day of ones birth
