Sermon Notes 8/22 – Mark 6

Mark 6:45-5

-The wind was against the disciples – (v48)

-All believers will face a windy day

-These represent trials, obstacles and problems, personal issues, the culture
and false doctrine
What are we going to do as believers in these windy days?
***Cry out ot the Lord in prayer (v48)
Crying out to the Lord is Scriptural – Ps 88:1-2,13/102:1-2/61:1-2/55:17/138:3
(1.) To cry out to the Lord, we must know the Lord’s priority when it comes to prayer and the church – Isaiah 56:7 and Matthew 21:7…….
            – we are called to a church
            – the church is a house of prayer
(2.) To cry out ot the Lord, we must be separated – Hebrews 12:14
-the words holy, saint and sanctified all mean to be separate
-3 levels of Sanctification
       1. Past – we were set apart at salvation
       2. Present – we are continually separated by the Holy Spirit & Word of God
       3. Future – this is when we get to heaven
***Bible separation means our prayers will be answered – Jeremiah 11:9-14
***The Lord does not have to answer our prayers if we are not living for Him
(3.) We cry out to the Lord in prayer because the church is responsible for  how much of heaven touches the earth – Psalm 3:4 & Jeremiah 33:1-3
***The Lord is Sovereign and can do anything He desires to do at any time to anyone
***Most of the time, it is the prayers of the church that accomplish much – James 5:16
(4.) CRYING OUT PRAYER IS CONTINUAL – ACTS 12:1-11
-this is continual tug of war prayer
-keep praying no matter what
-answers to prayer do not happen quickly, but keep praying.  While waiting on our breakthrough, let’s not waste our time
REMEMBER: CONTINUAL PRAYER MEANS CONTINUAL ANSWERS TO PRAYER
***When we continually cry out to the Lord, we gain some things and lose some things………
