Sermon Notes 8/18 –  JOSHUA 6:1-11, 15-17,20

                                                 WALLS
***Israel hit a wall when they came to the promised land – the Walls of Jericho
***Walls represent issues and problems that all believers battle
***We bring the walls down through praise and worship
***Remember:  Your breakthrough is ON THE WAY……Your wall coming down is ON THE WAY…
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO WHEN WE HIT A WALL?
(1.) WE MUST LOOK BEYOND THE WALL TO THE PROMISES OF GOD AND PRAISE HIM FOR HIS PROMISES WORK – Joshua 6:2
-Joshua received a promise from the Lord and it was his before the manifestation occurred…Joshua received the promise by faith
-Dwell on the promises of God and not on the walls you face – speak to the wall – Mark 11:23-24
***One of the Lord’s Favorite words is THROUGH…Isaiah 43:2-3a
-it means to take us from one side to the other
-it means to fully complete the process
(2.) KEEP GRINDING IT OUT – Joshua 6:6-15 & Philippians 2:12
grinding – means difficult & daily labor; routine, discipline, study and work
-grinding it out is spending daily time with Jesus Christ
-Joshua is a type of Jesus and so what Joshua is saying, it is like Jesus is telling it to us also
-Joshua told Israel to spend time with Jesus every day…….and the walls would come down…
(3.) TAKE THE PRAISE CURE – Acts 16:25-31…Joshua 16:15-16, 20-21a…Is 61:1-3
***The PRAISE cure is praise —it is the cure for any wall you come up against
-Isaiah 61:1-3 – Put on the garment – means begin to praise the Lord
-The praise cure works for every wall we have and walls will come down
