– We pray because the Lord moves when we pray – and MORE happens

-We pray because we have a promise – 2 Chronicles 7:14

-We pray because prayer opens things up – Colossians 4:2-3

-We pray because prayer opens  up heaven — when heaven opens up, things come through

***Matthew 3:13-17 – The Anointing of the Holy Spirit Comes Through

1.) Anointing – Acts 10:38 – means to smear, rub and contact with oil

and it is the presence of the Lord

                   3 Characteristics of the Anointing – 3 A’s

1. The Anointing is ACQUIRED

2. The Anointing is ACTION
3. The Anointing is an ATTRACTION

                             THE ANOINTING IS ACQUIRED

                                            1 John 2:18-27

verse 18 – Little Children – refers to an immature believer who needs alot of growth

                     Read and Study the Word of God…

Hour or Time – (used twice) – this refers to a specific critical time on God’s clock

Antichrist – one main antichrist – means an opponent of Jesus Christ

Antichrists – many false religions and teachers

-Acts 20:29-31/Matthew 24:4-5,11,23-27

verse 19 – false teachers and doctrines invaded the church and minds of believers

               -they departed from the Christian faith

               -they are from the enemy – 2 Cor 11:3-4, 13-15

verse 20 –  This is an ACQUIRED ANOINTING

-But you – everyone who is a born again believer

-this is the Holy Spirit that helps us to determine what is wrong or right and what is false or true

-The Holy Spirit lives within us – 1 Corinthians 6:19

-The Holy One – is Jesus Christ

-when Jesus ascended, the Holy Spirit arrived – John 14:16-17

              ***ANOTHER – means another of the same kind

              ***The Holy Spirit is God

              ***The Holy Spirit points to Jesus – John 16:13-14

Know All – means to absolutely, positively and finally

***it speaks of knowing the truth

            2 Ways Of Knowing The Truth

     1. We have the Spirit of Truth in us – He points to Jesus who is truth Jn 14:6

     2. The Word of God which is truth

Jeremiah 23:29 – The Word is a fire or a hammer

vs21-23 –

                   v21 – know (used twice) meaning to absolutely positively know

                   v22 – people will say that Jesus Christ is not God

                   v23 – If you deny that Jesus is God, you do not have the Father or the Son

verse 24 – Staying Power

-Abide – means to stay and remain continually – stay in the Christian faith ands doctrine

-it is up to each believer to study and learn the Word of God

verse25 – Promise – means to guarantee/pledge/to announce

              – Promised – means to do something

verse 26 – demons will try to deceive us & use ministers and the bible to do so

verse 27 – You do not need that anyone teaches you – this does not mean not to have a church or leaders teach us.   It means we are not at the mercy of anyone who teaches the Word of God…
