The Baptism in the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:1
Jesus was crucified on Passover
On Pentecost 50 days after the resurrection the Holy Spirit descended
The Day of Pentecost is 1 of 7 prophetic holidays found in Leviticus 23
Three of these prophetic events have yet to be fulfilled
Trumpets Rosh Hashanah = Rapture
Day of Atonement Yom Kippur = The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ
Tabernacles Sukkot = He will rule and reign among us
Acts 2:1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come = come to pass, fulfilled, speaks the Lord’s promise being fulfilled in His perfect timing
They were in the same upper room where the last supper took place and post resurrection appearances of Jesus happened
This was a corporate prayer meeting
Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven
Heaven opened and touched earth
Fire represents the Lord’s Presence
Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven
This was the 1st cross cultural outreach as each heard the gospel in their own native language
