Sermon Notes 8/13 – Ephesians

 Paul’s Second Prayer

                                         Ephesians 3:8-13

verse 12 – In Whom – this is our position in Christ

verse 15 – the Christian family isa in 2 places: in heaven (those who have died) and some are on earth

-we change families when we are saved….we are now a part of the family of God

verse 12 – Pray with BOLDNESS – with a strong authoritative spirit

-it is lifting up our voices to the Lord

-Friendship Breeds Boldness

               – Pray with Confidence and Faith

-this means to be completely persuaded

-GOD’S GONNA DO IT

vs16-17 – Paul prayed that our inner man (the soul – emotions and our thinking)  would be strengthened

dwell – comes from 2 words – DOWN AND HOUSE…

-when Jesus saves us, the Holy Spirit is DOWNLOADED into our HOUSE (our bodies).  We are temples of the HOLY SPIRIT…

V13 – Tribulations

-tribulations – means to squeeze; crush; great pressure; hardships; pain

-this refers to us being able to be strengthen when we face tribulations

REMEMBER SOME THINGS:

1. Tribulations will come – Acts 14:21-22 & 2 Corinthians 11:22-28

-tribulations is plural – we will suffer many trials

-tribulations come when we do everything right

-do right even when things go wrong

2. One of the Lord’s favorite words is THROUGH – Ps 23:1-4 & Isaiah 43:1-2, 15-17

-If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it

3. Never allow our feelings to be the only voice we listen to – 2 Peter 1:4 & Genesis 1:1-2 & 1-29

-Feelings will lead us away from the lord and His Word

-Listen to the voices of the Lord and His Word – GOD SAID

-we have Bible promises to stand on during times of tribulations
