Sermon Notes 8/10 – The Last Days – Zechariah 13

Zechariah Chapters 12-14 are about The tribulation, second coming of Jesus and Israel
verse 7 – the man is My Companion  – means My Equal
-this reveals that Jesus Christ is God
-John 1:1,14; 5:18 & 20:24-29
verse 7 – strike the shepherd – refers to the death of Jesus Christ
             – sheep will scatter – Matthew 24:1-2 – this happened in 70AD – Israel was scattered by a Roman Invasion for their rejection of Jesus
Turn My Hand – this is dealing with Israel
-Jeremiah 30:7
verse 8 – All the land – this is the nation of Israel
two thirds of the Jewish people will die during the tribulation
one third of the Jewish people will be left and be saved
*Matthew 24:36-44
verse 9
the fire – refines us and removes impurities.  It represents trials and tribulations…….
  ***When we are saved:
           1. we become a child of God – John 1:12-13
           2. we recognize that Jesus Christ is God
           3. we call on the name of the Lord
verse 9
Call – means to cry out to the Lord/to call on His name outloud/to make a loud humming noise/to roar like a lion/a ringing or shrill sound
——-this is one way to pray
     Why must we cry out to the Lord?
***Crying out prayer is scriptural – Ps 18:6/34:15,17;61:1-2;55:17;88:1-2, 9, 13;102:1-2;138:1-3
***We cry out to the Lord in prayer because of the times we are living in – 1 Chr 12:32
***We must cry out to the Lord in prayer because the church needs some power and a spiritual spark
***We must cry out to the Lord in prayer because the Lord limits Himself to our payers
2 Chronicles 7:14
      CRYING OUT TO THE LORD IS THE POWER OF THE VOICE – Isaiah 40:9
-the enemy will try to stop us
-a spirit of religion will try to stop us
-I’ve always done it this way will stop us
       KEEP CRYING OUT – Matthew 7:7-11
-there immediate results
-there are process results
-But there are results
