Sermon Notes 7/18 – Friendship Was Created by God

**John 17:20-23**

– The power of the Holy Spirit in our lives gives us the ability to be one.

– When Jesus prayed, He prayed from a place of victory.

**1. Be a Friend Who Prays**

– When the church comes together and prays, miraculous things happen.

– What kind of people do you hang out with? Do they pray with you and for you?

– The enemy is fully aware of the power of a praying church, family, and marriage.

**1 Samuel 18:1-4**

**2. Be a Friend Who Puts Others First**

– Jonathan’s friendship with David was more important than his position.

– We need to stop competing and start completing each other.

**1 Samuel 20:1-5**

**3. Be a Friend Who Speaks Life**

– When the enemy knows he can’t separate us, he will stop trying.

– When people know you won’t speak badly about others, they will stop talking badly around you.

**4. Be a Friend Who Serves**

– Jonathan and David had the same mission. When we stick to the mission, we can serve others.

– Jesus said, “I came to serve, not to be served.”
