Sermon Notes 6/29 – Fourth of July 🇺🇸

1st Service

A Free America

1. Return to The Word!

John 8:32  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

“My Truth” there is no more dangerous term in the world today that we can each have our own truth. That truth is relative to each individual and fluid to evolve as humanity evolves.

This sounds inclusive and tolerant even loving but it’s the worst kind of deception. It is spiritually toxic and puts us on the throne where Christ belongs.  and we need to return to the Truth of God’s Word in the USA!

-John 14:6 Jesus says I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Truth is not an ideal, a perspective or a vibe. Truth is a PERSON—JESUS We find Him in His Word. He was the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us to teach us and save us.

1 Thessalonians 2:13

“And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.

-The Bible is total truth so we can know who we are in Christ

-The Bible is total truth so we can know what is false doctrine and true doctrine

-The Bible is total truth and can change our nation

2. Walk in the Spirit

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”— 2 Corinthians 3:17 (NIV)

THE USA WAS FOUNDED ON THE PURSUIT OF FREEDOM TO WORSHIP GOD

The Pilgrims followed the lead of the Holy Spirit and left everything behind to follow the Holy Spirit. He led them to America to be FREE to worship the Lord away from tyranny!

These were spiritual pioneers, the first American Missionaries if you will that came to establish a NEW Land in the name of Jesus Christ.

—the Holy Spirit is telling all believers to cry out to Him in prayer – if my people who are called by my name

—the Holy Spirit is telling all believers to win people to Jesus

—The Holy Spirit is telling all believers to repent and turn to Jesus

—the Holy Spirit is telling us prepare for a shift God is producing which will  bring about more – more salvations, prosperity and blessings to us and our nation

  • True freedom isn’t just from sin—it’s to live empowered by the Holy Spirit.
To fulfill great things for the Lord we must be lead by the Spirit of God.

  • Freedom isn’t about rules, it’s about relationship—with the living God.

3. Freedom Through Surrender

We can be spiritually and totally free through surrender – ( I would use a verse that stays away from the word slavery.  Some cultures have difficulty with this word)…….

-you can use this point to emphasize the first two points……..if our nation is going to come to the Lord, we must surrender to the truth of God’;s word because His word – every word of it – is right and works

-we must surrender and deny ourselves and cry out to the Lord in prayer

-we must surrender to the conviction power and the presence of the Holy Spirit which will change lives and our nation

-we must surrender to Jesus and be saved…………..a call to salvation here….

2nd Service

The Path to Freedom

Joshua 5:13–15

STEP 1: FREEDOM STARTS WITH SURRENDER

Obedience is letting go of your way…Surrender is letting go of your life!.

Joshua – 7: 10–13.

STEP 2: FREEDOM CONTINUES WITH REPENTANCE

Hidden sin doesn’t stay hidden…..it stops movement.
Joshua 8:1–8

STEP 3: FREEDOM moves forward with RELATIONSHIP

You can be delivered from the Egypt

You can cross the river

You can shout down walls

You can even dig up the sin from the camp

But if you stop listening to the voice of the Lord….you will never walk in the promises he has for you!

Freedom starts with surrender.
Freedom continues with repentance.
Freedom moves forward with relationship

3rd Service

We Are Free

Freedom in Christ — To Pray, To Receive His Power, and To Be His Witnesses
Introduction
Three freedoms we have in Christ—freedoms that can bring transformation in our lives and in our nation.

Now is the time for the Church to rise up and embrace the freedoms we’ve been given in Christ.

1. We Are Free to Pray

2 Chronicles 7:14
When the Church prays—things shift. Prayer isn’t soft or passive. It’s strategic, Spirit-filled, kingdom-shaking intercession that changes history.

Why Do We Cry Out?
1. Because it is Biblical Psalm 34:17
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.”
2. Our nation need healing and we have a promise 2 Chronicles 7:14
3. Because prayer unlocks the supernatural
4. Because we are living in desperate times
5. Because policies won’t fix spiritual problems—only revival can
6. Because God responds to desperation
Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:1–15)
King Jehoshaphat was surrounded by a massive army. He didn’t run to armies or alliances—he cried out to God:

When God’s people pray:
• He awakens His Church
• We experience His presence and power
• Families are restored
• He heals our land
• Prayers are answered
Freedom begins on our knees.

2. We Are Free to Receive His Power

Acts 1:8

The word “power” in Greek is dunamis—where we get “dynamite.”
It is a supernatural, explosive, miracle working power. Not just to speak in tongues
This power equips us:
• To live boldly
• To love deeply
• To serve selflessly
• To preach courageously
• To pray fervently
• To stand firm in a shaking world

We are not powerless!
WE are free to receive His power because He promised it

Why Do We Need His Power?
• Because we can’t follow Jesus in our own strength
• Because boldness comes from the Holy Spirit
• Because we are in a spiritual battle, and only God’s power can win it

3. We Are Free to Be His Witnesses

Acts 1:8

A witness isn’t someone with all the answers.
A witness just says:

Romans 10:14

God Can Use Anyone

• The Samaritan woman said, “Come see a man…” (John 4)
• The man set free in Mark 5 was told, “Go tell your people…”
• Peter denied Jesus—but later led thousands to salvation

It’s not about our past. It’s about our willingness.
Revelation 12:11

God is just looking for someone to say:
“Here I am, Lord. Send me.”

As we celebrate the Fourth of July, we are grateful for the freedom bought by sacrifice.
But even greater is the freedom we have in Christ:
• We are free to pray—and when we cry out, God moves.
• We are free to receive His power—to live boldly and love supernaturally.
• We are free to be His witnesses—to carry Jesus into a dark and desperate world.
And if there has ever been a time for the Church to rise up it is now.
Jesus is our only answer.
