Sermon Notes 6/23 – The Shoes of Peace – Ephesians 6:10-18 (V15)

(1.) PEACE IS NOT DETERMINED BY WHAT WE POSSESS, BUT BY WHO POSSESSES US – PROVERBS 17:1 & John 14:17

-Peace is in a person and the person is Jesus Christ

-Jesus is the only source of true peace

-Possessions will not produce peace

Jesus Christ is Peace

          ***Jesus is the Prince of Peace in Isaiah 9:6

          ***Jesus is Jehovah Shalom – the Lord is Peace –  in Judges 6:24

Peace – means to join yourself together with someone which produces calmness, quiet and tranquility

***The shoes of Peace give us a strong footing – Roman soldiers had 1-3″ spikes on the bottom of their shoes

(2.) FEAST ON PEACE AND NOT PANIC – Colossians 1:20

                a. There are 2 Kinds of Peace

                                 1. Peace with God – Col 1:20-21 – peace received @ salvation

Mark 5:34 – Go In Peace – means to enter into a peaceful state/possess peace

                                2. Peace of God – Philippians 4:6-7 – this is the supernatural peace and presence of the Lord

***This is supernatural peace when the enemy kicks you in the shins

-the Roman soldiers shoes of peace were made of metal from the calf down

***This is supernatural peace when our peace is disturbed – you can kick chaos and confusion out of your life with those metal spikes

Romans 16:20 – PEACE CRUSHES SATAN

   ***shortly – means to keep on marching forward no matter what

(3.) PEACE HAS FEET – Luke 10:1-11

***Walk toward Jesus to gain peace – this includes salvation & discipleship

***Walk toward believers to try to keep peace – Romans 12:18

***Walk toward believers to give them peace

***We can have peace here (on earth) and there (heaven)…………..
