Sermon Notes 5/5 – The Voice of The Holy Spirit

 The Holy Spirit Speaks – Acts 13:1-3

-open your heart and spiritual ears to the Holy Spirit – Rev 2:7,11,17,29…3:6,13,23

-The Holy Spirit is a person and God – John 14:15-18 & 16:12-15

(1.)  THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT CONFIRMS THINGS THROUGH US AND TO US – 1 Cor 12:8-11

THROUGH US

-the Lord gives us words to give to other people to confirm what He is already speaking

-one word from the Lord can change everything

-this is why we go out into the marketplace

TO US

-the Holy Spirit confirms things we are thinking & need to know – Romans 8:9-17

(2.) THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A PERSISTENT VOICE –

Psalm 62:11 and Eccl 5:1

Examples: Acts 9:1-4…Jeremiah 33:1-3…1 Samuel 3:1-20…Haggai 2:6-9, 20

*The Holy Spirit persists in telling us some things – Ephesians 5:18

*The Holy Spirit speaks to us at any location & at any time…….

*Expect to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit – Prov 12:15 & 24:6

-share with others to get their thoughts & not to direct you

*When you do not hear the Holy Spirit speaking, You are hearing the Holy Spirit speaking – when He is quiet it means we are right in the will of God

(3.) THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ALWAYS AGREES WITH THE WORD OF GOD – Galatians 1:8-9

-any voice that contradicts the Bible should be rejected

-Only the Holy Spirit directs the believer

-The voice of the Holy Spirit will always line up with the Word of God

***We need the Word of God:

           1. so we will not be ashamed – 2 Timothy 2:15

           2. and need to saturate ourselves in it – Colossians 3:16

-dwell – means to have a home in your heart
