Zechariah

                                        Chapter 8

verse 11 – A Remnant
Remnant – means a portion
-many people are saved, but not on fire for Jesus
-the remnant are those on fire for Jesus/all in
-Join the Remnant – it is a decision
vs12-13 – The Blessings the Lord will give to the remnant
verse 12 – The Lord will automatically bless the remnant – permanent
v12 – prosperity
v12 – there will be an open heaven
v13 – redemption
v13 – things will turn around
verse 13 – it is going to happen…
-the remnant is blessed so that they can bless others
verses 14-15 – The Lord Is Determined
-to discipline Israel to bring them to Him
v15 – to do good to Israel – give them benefits
vs 16-17 – good things will come to us as we obey the Lord – Deut 28:1-2
vs18-19 – It is not a time to fast, but to feast on the good things of the Lord
vs20-23 – when the Lord returns, some people will want to go and see Him and others will be asked to go see Him -grasp – means to grab ahold of someone and not let go – bring to Jerusalem
Zechariah  8 – The Promise Of God
word – means the pledge and promise of God
1. The promises of God never fail – 2 Cor 1:20
-some of the promises of God are conditional
2. We must stand on the promises of God – Zechariah 8:20-23
-v23 – grasp – to grab ahold of something and not let go
-declare the promise you are standing on and keep speaking it until the manifestation of the promise happens
The Lord of Hosts – vs1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 14, 19,20,23
-this refers to the Lord being over a spiritual army
1. Every believer is in the army – 2 Tim 2:3-4
-we were enlisted the day we were saved
-Jesus is the commander of the army – Col 1:15-18
-we all have gifts to use in this army
– An army is a trained, disciplines force of people
2. An army understands its enemy – Eph 6:10-18
-never make the battle personal
3. An army at times takes on some friendly fire – Eph 4:30
4. An army has weapons – 2 Cor 10:4-5
