vs1-3 – describes every person before salvation
-dead – to trespasses and sins – the sin nature ruled us
-disobedient – we were a part of the kingdom of darkness

                                   FLESH FACTS
FLESH FACT #1
-THE MAIN ENEMY OF THE BELIEVER IS THE FLESH
-never overemphasize the devil and demons
-most of the battles we face as believers are with our flesh
                 WHAT IS THE FLESH?
***PLEASE SHOW THE BODY, SOUL, SPIRIT DIAGRAM HERE***
-the flesh is the old nature that remains with us even after we are saved
-the flesh is against the Lord and the things of the Lord
       REMEMBER TWO POINTS:
            1. the devil can only be one place at a time
            2. Demons are easier to deal with than the flesh
How do we defeat the flesh? – Exodus 17:8-16
1. TAKE CONTROL OF THE CONVERSATION IN YOUR HEAD – Exodus 17:8
-the flesh speaks
-the flesh only speaks things that are contrary to the Lord & His Word & will
-To take control of the conversation in our heads:
          a. We make a declaration – NO MORE
-this shows we understand the power of the Lord is greater than the power of the flesh
          b. Think about what you are thinking about – Phil 4:8-9
-use self talk to separate flesh from Bible thoughts
Every believer has a choice to make..
-To fight or not fight – Exodus 17:8-9
-do not lose your fight
                         HOW DO WE FIGHT?
TAKE A WALK – Galatians 5:11-25
-walk daily
-complete the process – take time to be with Jesus every day
***We take a walk by praying, staying in the Word and Minimizing Secrecy and Maximizing Reinforcements
***PRAYER – pray even when we are tired & grins it out
***Read the Word – use 3 powerful words when the flesh speaks – IT IS WRITTEN
***Minimize secrecy & Maximize Reinforcements – never isolate/we need each other
As we take a walk – the spirit dominates and the flesh decreases its strength
