THE LAKE

When the Wind Blows Against You
                             THE POWER OF THE VOICE
                                         MARK 6:47-49
(1.) THE POWER OF THE VOICE AND WHAT WE SPEAK ABOUT OUR SITUATION IS VITAL WHEN THE WIND BLOWS AGAINST US – Proverbs 18:21
-our verbal reactions are very important during a trial
             a. Words have power to produce fruit – life or death
Speaking Death
-telling the truth is not speaking death
-always add words of life
-continually speaking death produces death
Speaking Life
-Speaking life is never ignoring the truth
-Continually speaking life produces continually receiving life
              b. Words have power to affect us and others around us – Mark 6:45-56
AFFECT US
-the power of the voice affects us personally
***catch yourself when you speak words of death
***Repent if you go too far in speaking death
AFFECT OTHERS
-Mark 4:39-14 & 6:46-56
-the words of fear and unbelief of the disciples affected each other
Remember: Speaking life doesn’t mean our trial will end or be shortened
YET – speaks of the fact that we haven’t received our breakthrough YET, but it is coming………
(2.) THE POWER OF THE VOICE AND WHAT WE SPEAK ABOUT OURSELVES IS VITAL WHEN THE WIND BLOWS AGAINST US – Mark 4:40-41
-2 Points
            1. declare who we are in Christ
            2.  declare who we are in Christ continually – and during a storm
***The disciples were defining themselves by the storm they were in
***We define who we are in Christ in many ways
***We are who Jesus says we are
