Sermon Notes 4/4 – Mark

MARK 2:1-12

Mark 12 refers to the body of Christ today in America
                -the church is paralyzed by a spirit of lukewarmness
                -the church must practice 5 principles given by Mark to see renewal
Breakthrough – Mark 2:3 – means to smash an obstacle and make progress
                                        – speaks of penetrating enemy territory
                                        -means to remove anything that restricts a flow
Principle #1 – We need Jesus and His presence
Principle #2 – We need the Word of God
Principle #3 – SWe need Evangelism
Mark 2:3 – 4 men are mentioned – the #4 represents direction – N, S, East & West
         ***The definition of Evangelism – it is when people are so onfire and passionate about Jesus that they in turn tell others about Jesus and set them on fire
—These 4 men brought the paralytic to Jesus to be healed and saved
—This was done to build the Kingdom of God
                       BE A GOD MAGNET – BRING PEOPLE TO JESUS
1. EVERY BELIEVER HAS THE JOY AND RESPONSIBILITY TO BRING PEOPLE TO JESUS – 2 Timothy 4:5
——-No Excuses
2. WE BRING PEOPLE TO JESUS BECAUSE HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE ANYONE – Luke 19:1-10
-only Jesus can break the power of the sin nature in humanity
-we get the lost saved
                 ***Jesus loves the lost
                 ***The word lost means to be out of place
3. WE BRING PEOPLE TO JESUS BY PLANTING SEEDS –  1 Cor 3:1-8
-only the Lord saves people…The believer just plants the seeds
      Evangelism Misconceptions
            1. Believers should not be around unbelievers – Mark 2:14-17
            2. Living for Jesus is enough to get people saved – 1 Peter 3:15
            3. Do not witness until your Christian life is all it should be – Mark 2:40-44
4. BRINGING PEOPLE TO JESUS IS SIMPLE  – 1 Cor 15:1-5
-just preach the good news and gospel
-find something to talk about
-pop the question
5. BRINGING PEOPLE TOP JESUS IS ETERNAL- Titus 3:3-7
-Reaching people is a heaven and hell choice
– we need Jesus here (on earth) and there (to get to heaven) – John 10:10
