Sermon Notes 4/28 – The Voice of The Holy Spirit

1. THE HOLY SPIRIT SPEAKS – ACTS 13:1-3

-Rev 2: 7, 11,17,29

-The Holy Spirit is a person –  John 14:15-18 & 16:12-15

-The Holy Spirit is God – Acts 5:1-5

          ***John 14:16-18 – Another of the same kind

-God is one (Dt 6:4) and there is also a trinity

2. WE KNOW THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BECAUSE OF THE RELATIONSHIP WE HAVE WITH HIM – John 14:16-18

-we can talk with the Holy Spirit every day and at all times

                   CONFIRMATION

confirm – means to provide proof that something is true..ratify/approve/make firm

         a. The Holy Spirit confirms things through us

-this is receiving from the Lord and giving it to someone else – 1 Cor 12:8-11

-use this for power evangelism

         b. The Holy Spirit confirms things to us

-He speaks directly to us – Romans 8:9-17 – conforms we are saved

                3 QUESTIONS ABOUT CONFIRMATION

        1. Does it line up with the Word of God

        2. What does godly counsel say – Prov 12:15 & 24:6

        3. Does peace rule in your heart – Colossians 3:15

3. THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS PERSISTENT VOICE – Psalm 62:11 & Eccl 5:1

***Examples of a persistent voice – Acts 9:4; Jere 33:1-3…1 Sam 3:1-20…Haggai 2:6

*persistent words are important words

*persistent words rise up above all other noises and voices

***Expect to hear the voice of the Lord……..
