Sermon Notes 3/9 – Joel – The Last Days

Relent – vs13-14
-relent – this is the Lord calling back His judgment and replacing it with blessing…

-if a nation or person repents and turns to the Lord, He will bring blessing…

vs15-19 – Blow the trumpet
-one reason to blow the trumpet was to gather the people together – to give them a message and get their attention

-Everyone must repent – children, adults & honeymooners

v17 – the religious leaders of the land must repent
-leaders can stop the blessings of the Lord from coming to a nation

-people will begin to express doubt about their being a great God who blesses

vs15-19 – What was the Lord telling Israel to do? – Cry out to Him in prayer…….

-Crying out to the Lord is lifting our voices to Him
-Crying out to the Lord is a supernatural weapon
-Psalm 30

BLESSINGS FROM THE LORD DURING THE LAST DAYS – vs18-32
The last days will be difficult days….

BLESSING #1 – THE LORD WILL ANSWER OUR PRAYERS – vs18-19
-zealous – means to defend/embrace/all in/on fire
-pity – a tender feeling for those in distress

-2 John 2:8 – a full reward
-Psalm 66:16-20 – sin will keep our prayers from being answered

BLESSING #2 – PROSPERITY AND PROVISION
-this is the Lord meeting our needs and more

v24 – means to run over
-Matthew 6:33 is the key – Seek first the Kingdom of God

BLESSING #3 – Joel 2:19,26 – SATISFACTION

—the definition of satisfaction – to be fully gratified and pleased/totally content

—total and complete satisfaction is only found in Jesus – Psalm 107:9

—1 Timothy 6:6-12

–Since only Jesus satisfies – praise Him
Worship is forgetting about what’s wrong with us and remembering what’s right with God………

—being satisfied with Jesus eliminates all disappointments
-keep your eyes and focus on the Lord and take authority over the enemy

BLESSING #4 – THE LORD WILL TAKE CARE OF ALL OF OUR ENEMIES
-the battle of Armageddon – the Lord defeats all of Israels’ enemies

-this is a time of reversal – from defeat to victory…from sickness to health
