              3 MAIN BAPTISMS IN THE BIBLE

     ***Water Baptism – Matthew 28:19-20

-a believer is water baptized

-believers are baptized in water

-believers can baptize believers

     ***Baptism into the body of Christ (the church) – 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

-the Holy Spirit is the baptizer

-the believer is placed into the church

-the believer is baptized

      ***The Baptism of the Holy Spirit – Matthew 3:11

-Jesus is the baptizer

-the believer is baptized

-the spirit of the believer is immersed in the Holy Spirit

(1.) THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS BIBLICAL – Acts 2:1-4

(2.) THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FOR EVERYONE – Acts 2:38-39

-Jesus wants everyone saved and to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit – 2 Peter 3:9

            2 STATEMENTS

1. If the Lord wants me to have the baptism of the Holy Spirit, He will give it to me – James 1:17

2. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is only for a select few – Acts 10:34

-the Lord is not a respecter of persons

(3.) THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FOR TODAY – Malachi 3:6

-we need the power of God in 2022

-the Bible never says the baptism of the Holy spirit & speaking in tongues stopped

-1 Corinthians 13:8-12

(4.) THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS FROM THE LORD – Luke 24:29 & Matthew 3:11

-What people say and see does not change the fact that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is from the Lord

                                WE CAN RESIST THE HOLY SPIRIT

         1. We can resist the baptism of the Holy Spirit because of ignorance – 1 Cir 12:1

ignorant – means to have a lack of information & education & knowledge

-defeat ignorance by knowing and studying the Word of God – 2 Timothy 2:15

          2. Resistance can come because of what we see, read or what others say or what we think –  Proverbs 3:5-6 & 10:25

          3. Resistance can come because of the enemies’ strategies – Ephesians 6:10-18

1 Thess 2:18 – hindered – means to block progress — by lies as in John 8:44

—the enemy resists us in this area because of the power we receive – Acts 3:19

(5.) THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A SEPARATE EXPERIENCE FROM SALVATION – Acts 2:21

-the main principle of the Bible is redemption

-receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit does not save anyone

-the baptism of the Holy Spirit does not occur @ salvation – Acts 10:44-48

(6.) THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS RECEIVING MORE FROM THE LORD – 1 Corinthians 14:15

-Our spirit person is immersed in  ore of the Holy Spirit

-the Lord wants us to have MORE
