Sermon Notes 3/27 – Mark 6 – The Lake

Mark 6:45-56

                                       The Lake
v48 – the winds were against the disciples and they can be against us today
-this represents the difficult times we go through
v52 – refers to the doubt the disciples had that Jesus could get them through this storm
-they forgot about the feeding of the 5,000
-there minds were closed that Jesus could do something more powerful than that
***REMEMBER THE WORD REMEMBER*** – Deuteronomy 7:17-19
-Deut records 16 times the word REMEMBER
(1) REMEMBER WHAT THE LORD DID IN THE BIBLE – Dt 5:15
(2) REMEMBER WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE FOR YOU PERSONALLY
-Psalm 77:10-15 and Joshua 4:20-24
-Build some memorials – in the Ot when the Lord did something great, they would make a memorial built out of stones
(3.) REMEMBER THAT WHATEVER THE LORD HAS DONE IN THE PAST, HE WILL DO AGAIN IN THE FUTURE – James 1:17
Remember: the Lord will never fail you – 1 Chronicles 28:20
Remember: Our feelings will fail us, but the Lord and His Word never will
(4.) REMEMBER YOUR DESTINATION – Mark 5: 1-20 and Mark 6:53-56
-we have an assignment to fulfill in the future
(5.) REMEMBER TO DEVELOP PATIENCE – Galatians 5:22-23
-Patience is the ability to wait and behave right
-Always do what is right
