Sermon Notes 3/14 – Mark 2 – It’s Time for a Breakthrough

  Mark 2:1-12

v4 – when they broke through

-It means to tear down and penetrate walls

-It speaks of making progress and momentum

We need a breakthrough now – 1 Chronicles 12:32

Mark 2 gives 5 Principles about the body of Christ needing a breakthrough so our nation can have a breakthrough

PRINCIPLE #1 – WE NEED JESUS AND HIS PRESENCE TO BE IN THE HOUSE – Mark 2:1

        2 Points about the presence of the Lord

                     1. There is Theological presence – Heb 13:5 – Omnipresence

                     2. There manifest presence of the Lord – Lk 4:16-21 – the glory zone

When we enter into the glory zone – RADICAL REVERSALS take place…

-I want to attend a church where @ least some things can only be explained by the presence of God

PRINCIPLE #2 – WE NEED THE WORD OF GOD – Mark 2:2

-because it is God breathed – 2 Peter 1:20-21

-we need a combination of the presence of the Lord & the Word – Ez 37:1-14

Preach the Word – all of the Word – Matthew 4:4

      -the Word works all of the time – Is 55:11

      -the Word will be fulfilled – Gal 6:9

      -Be cautious using the word positive – 2 Tim 4:2

The Word produces healing –  Prov 4:20-22

         -stand on the Word for healing

         -we must find the Word of God – Prov 4:22

         -King Josiah found the Word of God – 2 Kings 22:1, 8-13 & 2 Kings 23:1-3

God’s Word is Enough – this is called the Sufficiency of scripture – it is the final Word
