REVELATION

Chapter One

verse 12 – 7 Golden Lampstands
7 is the # of God – refers to completeness – John is giving the complete periods of church history
Lampstands – oil-burning lamps made of clay – represent churches & Christians
-Imperfect and have cracks and flaws
-All different sizes and shapes
-The Lord looks at the church as pure gold
-Lampstands let their lights shine – Matthew 5:15-16

1. The Lord’s will and Power – Acts 1:8 & 2 Peter 3:8-9
2. Talk about Jesus
3. Share your story
4. Become a difference maker
The Lord is in Our Midst – Matthew 1:23 – Immanuel – God with us
FOCUS ON JESUS
Revelation 1:12-17 – A Description Of The Exalted Jesus
Verse 13 – Jesus was clothed with a garment down to His feet
-The garment comes down to His feet
-This represents Jesus being our High Priest
-He prays for Unity – John 17:17-23
-Our unity is in Jesus and the Great Commission
-Proverbs 6:16-19 – 7 Things Jesus Hates
Jesus had a golden band around His Chest
-The higher the band, the more powerful and wealthy the person was
-Philippians 2:5-11
Verse 14 – The head and hair of Jesus were white as snow
-This refers to the glory of Jesus Christ
-Revelation 1:17 – John crumbles because of the presence of the Lord
-The Eyes of Jesus are like a flame of fire
-Jesus sees everything, and so repent and work on those issues
-The fire of Jesus will burn out all impurities
Verses 15-16 – The feet of Jesus are like fine brass
-This refers to the judgment of God
-This is a slow judgment
-the church is not under the judgment of God – 1 Thess 1:10 & 5:19
-The Lord’s voice is like the sound of many waters
-This is a booming voice to the pastors of the church
-The Lord has every pastor in His hand – had means to have a firm grasp
Verse 16
Out of the mouth of Jesus is a sword
-This is the Word of God
Speak the Word
Speak Jesus
Speak Victory
The Countenance of Jesus is like the sun
Looking at Jesus is like looking at the sun in all of its fullness and strength
