Sermon Notes 2/4 – Samson

  A Prophetic Picture Of The Church

*Samson is a prophetic picture of the church in America

*Judges 16:4-5, 16-19

          THE CHURCH, OVERALL, HAS FALLEN ASLEEP AND NEEDS TO WAKE UP

1. We must wake up and see what is going on

-a sleeping church is unaware of what is going on around them

-We must wake up to the condition of the body of Christ

-our nation is away from the Lord because the church is asleep

-We must wake up to the fact that Jesus is coming back soon

***We must eliminate Revival Busters – Judges 16:19-31

-the Lord will give the church one more chance – we must take advantage of it

-There is More – more salvations, healing, deliverance and joy and victory

-Eliminate Revival Busters – Luke 1:18-25

         *Zechariah had a hard time believing what the angel told him – there was unbelief

         What will the church do with this ONE CHANCE MOMENT?

               1.   THE CHURCH MUST NOT BECOME LIKE THE WORLD – Judges 16:19 and

                                          Romans 12:3

The world is:

       ***The beautiful world the Lord created

       ***The world system that the devil rules

-We are not to conform to the world

-we are to follow the pattern the Lord laid down for the church to follow in Acts

       WE NEED TO CHANGE THE WORLD AND NOT BECOME LIKE THE WORLD

          2. THE WORLD SYSTEM SPEAKS TO US – Col 2:8 & 1 John 2:15

captive – means to be a prisoner by the deceptive forces of the world system

          3. THE WORLD NEEDS US – John 3:16

-the world needs to know Jesus

-there is nothing better than Jesus – Jesus is Enough…….
