Sermon Notes 2/11 Samsom

                                   Judges 16:16-19, 21-30

Samson is a prophetic picture of the church in the United States…

We are living in a ONE MORE CHANCE Moment of time…….

              What is the body of Christ in America going to do?

        THE CHURCH IS GOING TO BE SET ABLAZE BY A SUSTAINED TIME OF BEING

                                                     IN THE WORD OF GOD

Sustain – means to continue for a long period of time without interruption/keep going

Ablaze – means to set on fire and burn fiercely/to become very bright

***The Word of God will get people and churches set on fire for Jesus

            First Samuel 21:1-9

(1.) THERE IS NONE LIKE THE WORD OF GOD – 1 Samuel 21:9/Hebrews 4:12

-The Bible is the only book written by God Himself (66 BOOKS)

-there is no other except the Bible – Gal 1:6-10 & 2 Cor 11:3-5,13-15

                   ***The Bible is the only sword to use when it comes to spiritual things

                   ***The Bible is the only appointed Word of God

                   ***Anything else read outside of the Bible must align with the Bible or throw it out

(2.) THE BIBLE IS RELEVANT FOR TODAYS CULTURE – 1 Samuel 21:9

-David had used the sword earlier in life, but waited years to pick it up again

-David finally picked it up when he was in trouble years later

-Years later, the Bible was still relevant to his situation

           REMEMBER:

***The Bible does not change when the culture changes

***The Bible does not become irrelevant when the media & world says it is

***The Bible is up to date for todays culture

***The Bible has been relevant, is relevant and will be relevant for every generation

——-The Bible is relevant and we should not push it to the side and close it

*The Word of God is a hammer – it can crush your issues – Jeremiah 23:29

*The Word of God is a fire – Jeremiah 23:29 – burns up garbage in us/melts hard hearts

*The Word of God is a Sword – Eph 6:17 – it kills cancer and disease and sickness

(3.) THE WORD OF GOD MUST BE IN GOD’S HOUSE – 1 Samuel 21:8-9

Psalm 84:1-10 we must increase our desire to be in the house of the Lord and the Word of God needs to be there when we get there

-Just preach what the Word of God says

-never hide the Word of God – it is a priority in church

-the Word of God was hidden at the Tabernacle of Nob

-the church today can hide the Word behind LED walls, celebrity preachers, lights

-after Jesus, the Word of God is the priority to follow
