Sermon Notes 11/26 – Achan’s tent, Spiritual Warfare

1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened to them as examples and they were written for our admonition

God’s Directive to Joshua TAKE THE LAND Joshua 1:1-9 Be bold be strong for the Lord thy God is with you do not be afraid do not be dismayed for the Lord thy God is with you

After they crossed the Jordan they conquered Jericho, Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho and they won

Ai is a type of the enemy (represents the enemy) there is a devil and there are demonic beings

Ai exploited the DISOBEDIENCE of Israel

7:6-9 Joshua blames God for the loss

7:10 Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? This is not my problem, it’s your problem. God said stop crying!

7:1 But the Children of Israel committed a trespass regarding the accursed things for Achan the son of Carmi the son of Zabdi the son of the son of Zerah of the tribe of Judah took accursed things so the anger of the Lord burned against the Children of Israel

7:12 Neither will I be with you any more unless you destroy the accursed from among you

As a result, Israel went to battle alone on their own

Your everyday obedience to the Lord determines your effectiveness in the battle

Spiritual warfare is something you practice everyday Ephesians 6

Put on the belt of truth

Put on the breastplate of righteousness

Shod your feet with the preparation of the GOSPEL OF PEACE

Above all taking the SHIELD OF FAITH

Put on the Helmet of Salvation

Take up the sword of the spirit
