Sermon Notes 11/24 – Psalm 91

                                         Verses 14-16

Psalm 91 ends ib vs14-16 with the Lord speaking to all believers

-guard yourself from anti Jesus and Bible voices

The voice of God will always keep speaking loudly

All other voices will diminish over time

The voice of God always lines up with the Word of God

verse 14 – he – refers to every born again believer who dwells in the secret place daily

***The voice of the Lord is an inviting voice

vs 14-16 – the blessings of dwelling

v14 – I will deliver you

v14 – I will set you on high

v15 – I will answer your prayers

v15 – I will be with you in trouble

v15 – I will honor you

v16 – I will show you my salvation

(1.) THE LORD WILL SET THE BELIEVER ON HIGH – v14

       ***This refers to the Lord promoting someone

       ***Psalm 75:6-7

REMEMBER: No person can ever hold you back.  We only hold ourselves back

       ***This refers to our future

-we soar like eagles and see miles in front of us and dream in the Lord about what is ahead

(2.) THE LORD WILL ANSWER ALL OF OUR PRAYERS AS WE DWELL IN THE SECRET PLACE – verse 15

***The Lord does not have to answer our prayers

Ps 66:18…Is 1:15-16…James 4:3…Micah 3:2-5…1 John 5:14-15

Prov 15:29…Psalm 34:4

   What do we do when our prayers are hindered?  There are 4 Bible steps to follow:

Colossians 4:2

STEP #1 – STICK WITH IT – Continue  – it means to have a solid, strong, never give up type of attitude that always leans in toward an object or person

-the root meaning of the word continue means to be strong – dwelling in the shelter of God every day keeps us strong spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically

STEP #2 –  SURRENDER

-the word prayer refers to surrendering anything in our lives that is not pleasing to Jesus

STEP #3 – STAY ALERT

-Believers need to be alert and attentive

-This is the picture of guards staying awake on their job

-Matthew 26:36-46 – the disciples could not stay awake to pray – the Lord said Rise Up

STEP #4 – SPEAK THANKSGIVING

thanksgiving – this is an outpouring of gratefulness from the heart

-it is thanking the Lord for what He has done, is doing and for the breakthroughs to come
