verse 3 – The Lord will deliver us from the snare of the fowler
-There is a devil and we are in a spiritual battle
snare – is a trap to catch animals
fowler – is the one who trains birds to hunt like falcons
The fowler refers to satan who trains and leads his demons
***One trap from the enemy is to get people to think that he is not a living being, but only a symbol of evil
***It is the policy of the devil to persuade us that there is no devil
***The attacks and traps of the enemy are increasing
-he started off as a serpent – Genesis 3:1-15
-he then is described as a lion – 1 Peter 5:8-9
-the devil then is referred to as a dragon – Revelation 12:1-16
REMEMBER: The devil is vicious, but not victorious
WHERE DO THE ATTACKS OF THE ENEMY COME FROM – PS 91:9-13
PROTECTION IS PROMISED TO THOSE WHO DWELL IN THE SECRET PLACE DAILY
v10 – we are protected from above
befall – means from above
vs11-12 – we are protected from underneath – angels are present with us
Luke 22:42-46
V13 – we are protected from a frontal attack – lion
– we are protected from the back – a cobra and snake
WHY DO ATTACKS FROM THE ENEMY HAPPEN?
1.) The devil and his demons know their days are numbered – Matthew 8:28-29
***The demons and devil know where they are going and only a short time remains for them to be active
***Their goal is to steal, kill and destroy – John 10:10
How do demons steal, kill and destroy?
devil is diabolos & when combined with other words has the meaning to split
-believers have authority over the enemy – Psalm 91:13
————Luke 10:19
2.) The Lord is up to something – Acts 2:1-and 2:1-21
-the Lord is moving and believers need to get moving
-there must be a breaking of the spirit of limitation
a. do not limit yourself
b. do not allow the enemy to place a limit on you
c. do not allow others to limit you
