Sermon Notes 10/9 – Even If

DANIEL 3:16-18

-The 3 men in the fiery furnace were “EVEN IF” believers
             ***Even If believers continually follow the Lord no matter what happens to them
-The 3 men in the fiery furnace represents the fiery trials we all go through
-The 3 men in the fiery furnace practiced the Bible principle – ONE THING…….
          *******Psalm 27:1-6
-David wrote this while going through many many trial
-David practiced the ONE THING Bible principle – Psalm 27:4
1. ONE THING I HAVE DESIRED OF THE LORD IS THAT I MAY LIVE IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER – V4
-This refers to the tabernacle @ Nob.  David ran to church first
2. ONE THING I HAVE DESIRED OF THE LORD IS TO KNOW JESUS – v4 – AND KNOW THAT I NEED HIM
-to behold the beauty of the Lord – this refers to the Lord’s character & who He is
-Psalm 27:8 – David sought the Lord and not what the Lord could give Him
***Guard yourself from becoming Self-Sufficient which is thinking we can do anything on our own……..
***The Trap – is thinking we only need the Lord when we are facing an extreme trial
***Never resist or push back against the fiery trials the Lord has allowed us to encounter***
                          REVELATION 3:14-22
-the church at Laodicea is our church age and the last church age.  It is a church age with great lukewarmness because of great self sufficiency
v17 – we have need of nothing
Laodicea – means the rule of the people — man driven and not God driven
***Jesus said they were lukewarm  – means compromising and indifferent/no fire
—the Laodiceans understood this term.  They brought water into their city from a hot springs 6 miles away and it became lukewarm in that process
***Blind – Laodicea was famous for healing salve….Jesus said to use some of it
Revelation 3:20 – Jesus is knocking on the door of the church and the heart of every believer…….Let Him in!!!  Become God reliant!!!
