Sermon Notes 10/31 – Mark

 Mark 7::31-37

            TWO POINTS ABOUT HEALING:

1. HEALING IS A FIGHT

          a. Healing is a fight because we like immediate gratification – James 5:13-15

-we want everything now, but most healings to not take place now

-the Lord does want to heal us and make us whole – 1 Thess 5:23

-we have a promise – Galatians 6:9

-God’s delay is not His denial

         b. Healing is a fight because it is a constant mental and emotions battle – 2 Cor 10:4-5

—we have to remove wrong thoughts from the enemy and flesh

—we have to speak against all of our emotional feelings that are against the Lord

         c. Healing is a fight because it is a daily spiritual battle

-we need to join hands with others in this battle – Exodus 17:8-13

-and we must continue to do this to keep our healing

2. THE LORD CAN HEAL ANY WAY HE WANTS TO HEAL – Mark 7:33-35

-the Lord is a spitter

-v34 – only the Lord heals which is seen as Jesus looks up into heaven

-Numbers 13:19-20 – Healing is a promise

-any sickness can be healed because Jesus is God – Mark 7:25

-the Lord can heal any way He wants to heal – Matt 8:5-13 – Jesus healed at a distance…….John 9:6-12 – Jesus heals by spitting in dirt

-the healing from the Lord leads to salvation & spiritual change – Luke 7:11-17

Nain – means pleasant or beautiful

-the boy is healed and saved

vs1-9 – Jesus feeds thousands of people

-Jesus performs miracles & helps people because of His compassion – Mark 6:34…Mark 1:40-42….Matthew 9:36-38

vs10-12 – Do not seek anything except Jesus

-do not seek miracles, signs and wonders or miracles – Only seek Jesus

vs10-12 – the religious leaders wanted a spectacular sign from Jesus

v13 – Jesus left them – Jesus is attracted to faith

***Jesus surrounded Himself with Faith People

                         WHO ARE FAITH PEOPLE???

1. Faith people have present faith – Revelation 1:8

-faith people have NOW faith

2. Faith people create an atmosphere for God to move – Mark 5:21-24 & 5:35-6:1

-a faith atmosphere knows

-a faith atmosphere expects

-a faith atmosphere speaks words of faith

-a faith atmosphere believes God will continually move

-a faith atmosphere removes unbelief

-Mark 5:21-24 & 5:35-6:1…….Acts 9:32-40…..Mark 8:22-26
