Sermon Notes 10/30 – Zechariah 12

ZECHARIAH 12

vs 4,6,8,9,11 – In That Day – this refers to second coming of Jesus Christ

—it’s a promise – John 14:1-3

2 Timothy 3:1-8

know – means to recognize that something must be known

last days – means the ultimate end of something…it is something that is final

Perilous or difficult – the word refers to bad and hurtful words that are spoken

-the word refers uncontrollable and dangerous animals

Example: Matthew 8:28 – two demoniacs

2 Timothy 3:4 – lovers of pleasure – something that tastes sweet and is enjoyable

-it is exalting entertainment over Jesus Christ

-Only Jesus Christ satisfies

verse 4 – the Lord fights for Israel against their enemies

verse 5-6 –

v5 – the leaders realize they cannot fight their enemies along – John 15:5

v6 – a firepot or pan on the woodpile – this refers to what is left over from yesterdays fire. We cannot live on yesterdays fire & anointing

-a fiery torch in the sheves – this is adding wood and stirring the embers in the fire. A huge blaze erupts..\

-fire jumps and is contagious

-hang out with onfire believers

-the Lord started the fire in our lives. We have to keep it burning…….

verse 7 – The Lord will save Israel

Judah first – these are the poor and outcasts

Jerusalem will be saved also – these are more of an upper class people

-We can never be a respecter of persons – James 2:1-10

verses 8-9 – this refers to the Battle of Armageddon – Rev 19:17-21

—the Lord fights in the battle – vs8-9

—people also need to fight –

The feeble – are those who are weak becoming strong like David and the Lord

-believers today must enter into the fight and get their fight back……….
